ABC Adult School is committed to offering community-based enrichment classes designed to promote learning and social development, and to improve the quality of life for students of all ages. We offer a diverse selection of workshops and classes designed for personal enrichment, and for enhancing body and mind health. These classes are self-supporting and are not funded by taxpayer dollars.
Quarterly registration fees are based on a minimum of 20 students enrolled per hour.
1-hour per week classes: $36 per quarter
1.5-hour per week classes: $54 per quarter
2-hour per week classes: $72 per quarter
2.5-hour per week classes: $90 per quarter
3-hour per week classes: $108 per quarter

Meet the Community Education Staff
Arts & Crafts
The calligraphy class will be studying several calligraphy hands. This class is a great atmosphere for the beginner and trained calligrapher who wants to have practice time. Join us! Students must purchase their own supplies.
In this class you will learn all the information and skills to earn California Certified Florist (CCF) by the California State Floral Association. This class will cover floral design terms, techniques, and traditions. $25 material fee due each week. Students must purchase their own supplies.
In this class you will learn how to “fuse glass” by melting it in a kiln to make one-of-a-kind pieces. You'll practice glass cutting skills and learn different construction and decoration techniques which can be applied to all sorts of glass whether you love to make jewelry pieces, panels or plates. We'll cover working with fusible glass as well as try our hands at melting bottles and old window glass. Please wear closed-toed shoes to class. Bring a pair of safety glasses, pencil, ruler, Sharpie marker and scissors to the first class. Depending on the projects selected by each student, materials cost approximately $12 - $18 each week. A limited assortment of glass will be available for purchase in the classroom.
Discover the latest techniques in non-soldering jewelry making, while you are guided through the fundamental steps. A variety of techniques will be covered over the course of the year including wire wrapping, chain maille, cabochon wrapping, wire weaving, use of crimps and beading wire, and metal forming. Learn what findings you need to use to properly finish your work. This class is designed for all levels of students. Beginners are welcome! Projects are created to inspire all students from beginners to advanced level students. Previous experience is not necessary. Students must purchase their own supplies.
Cooking & Baking Arts
Join Chef Margaret to make a variety of desserts for you, your family and friends to enjoy. Learn
how to make popular desserts and pastries along with fun holiday and seasonal treats. Chef
Margaret will guide you through each step, ensuring your creations are as beautiful as they are
delicious. Impress your friends and loved ones with your newfound baking skills as you
experience the joy of creating sweet delights.
For all workshops the instructor will provide the majority of ingredients and supplies. Required
supplies will be noted for each workshop. There is an additional fee for ingredients. The
instructor will purchase the ingredients and email students the cost. The fee will be paid to the
instructor on the day of class. Due to the purchase of ingredients, NO refunds after 7 days prior to the workshop. Don’t wait, register early! Workshops require a minimum number of registered students to be offered. Classes with fewer than the required number of students enrolled are subject to cancellation.
Apple Pie
Everyone will enjoy making this pie. Perfect for family gatherings and other occasions. Prepare to be delighted by the flaky pie crust and delicious filling. You’ll be set to make this pie again for Thanksgiving. Students will need to bring a 9-inch pie dish. There is an additional fee for ingredients. Ingredients will be purchased by the instructor. Almond Cake with Raspberry Sauce
Come make a delicious almond cake accompanied by raspberry sauce, adorned with special fruits atop. The cake is enhanced with the flavor of almond paste. The instructor will prepare the almond paste and demonstrate how to create the raspberry sauce. You will need to bring a 9-inch cake pan. There is an additional fee for ingredients. Decorating Cupcakes with Icing
Come master cupcake decoration. You will create icing during class and learn to use various piping tips and techniques. You will need to bring 6 to 10 pre-made cupcakes, and a container to take your cupcakes home. There is an additional fee for ingredients. Ingredients will be purchased by the instructor. The instructor will inform students of the fee via email. (10 students max)
Easy Tiramisu
Indulge in this unbelievably easy tiramisu recipe featuring creamy mascarpone, sweet ladyfingers, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Students will need to bring an 8 x 8 inch square pan, 2 ½ - 3 inches in height. There is an additional fee for ingredients. Ingredients will be purchased by the instructor. Chocolate Truffles for Christmas
Smooth, rich, and creamy. These homemade chocolate truffles are so addictive. Students will coat the truffles with cocoa, powdered sugar, nuts, and coconut. Halloween Monster Cupcakes
These cupcakes are all about decorations. They’re colorful, fun, cute, and easy to make. You can get as creative as you like; after all, they are monsters. Students will need to bring pre-made cupcakes to class in a muffin/cupcake pan with 12 sections. Ingredients and most equipment will be provided by the instructor. Cookies for St. Patrick’s Day

Enjoy the wonderful world of music by learning guitar and bass in a classroom setting. All levels are welcome, whether you’ve never played before or if you have some experience with playing songs and bands. You’ll learn chords, scales, songs, solos and improvisation, practicing techniques and fretboard geography. Students will learn to draft a skirt from their own measurement and re-design their own style from existing garments. Join our fun and educational class as we work on basic quilt making skills, along with decorative and holiday items including placemats, zipper bags, table runners, gift items, and more. Angela will introduce you to the modern world of customer fabrics and hardware. Learn how to “bling” your creations. We will use modern machine methods along with traditional techniques. This class will empower and enable you to unleash your creativity to optimize your marketing strategies and build a far-reaching public network. You will be learning how to make use of the free available tools through WordPress.com to create a website that will be well integrated with the social media platforms where you will be building your client base. You will learn to generate and incorporate QR codes on your business cards so that you get your website in the palms of the hands of your potential clients. You will also learn Adobe After Effects to create animated promotions for the web and YouTube. By the end of the course you will have your own website that is fully functional and ready to connect with the world, live online, without paying any additional fees.
