Please join us for our “Parent Café” workshops! “Parent Cafés” are safe, non-judgmental workshops meant to provide encouragement, information, and resources to help parents and caregivers support their students' learning and well-being. “Parent Café” workshops are a safe space to listen, learn and find a support system within the District. The goal is to build on parents’ strengths and for parents to use their strengths in daily parenting. ALL PARENTS can benefit from "Parent Cafés". Choose from a variety of topics to support parents of students from elementary to high school age.
All “Parent Café” workshops will be from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and will be held at the Adult School-Cabrillo Lane Campus, 20122 Cabrillo Lane, Cerritos, California, 90703, unless otherwise indicated. Drug Education and Life Skills Workshops
The teen and young adult years are confusing, complicated and formative. Understanding what's happening socially and developmentally and how it can intersect with substance abuse is fundamental to setting the stage for healthier choices. This series of workshops aims to educate parents/caregivers on the dangers and consequences of drug use. Workshops will provide the necessary knowledge and tools needed to help our youth make informed educated choices when it comes to substance abuse. These workshops have the option for parents to learn with or without their teens (teens may attend with a registered adult). Attend one or all of the series workshops.
Scheduled dates are:
